1. MASTER WEBSITE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1.1 Introduction
These Terms govern the use of www.mytutorquest.com (“Website”) operated by My Tutor Quest Ltd (“Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By registering, browsing, or purchasing services through the Website, all users (“you”, “your”) agree to be bound by these Terms.
1.2 Purpose of the Website
The Website operates as an intermediary platform connecting:
(a) Students, Parents or Clients seeking educational, consultancy, or well-being services;
(b) Tutors and Consultants who offer such services independently.
The Company does not provide teaching or consultancy itself.
1.3 Definitions
“Connection Fee” – non-refundable fee paid to access a Tutor’s or Consultant’s contact details.
“Consultant” – any verified professional offering University Application Advice, Teacher Training, or Student Well-Being Support.
“Client”– any student, parent or person who has registered him/her/themselves on the website to use the services offered by the website.
“Tutor” – verified teacher or trainer listed on the Website.
“Group Session” – any session advertised by a Tutor or Consultant under the Group Sessions section, offered to multiple participants.
1.4 Verification
All Tutors and Consultants undergo verification by the Company, including proof of identity (passport), academic qualifications, and safeguarding certification (DBS check UK or Police Certificate abroad). Only verified users are published live.
1.5 Use of the Platform
(a) Students/Clients may freely chat with Tutors/Consultants via the Website before purchase.
(b) Once satisfied, they may purchase the verified Tutor’s or Consultant’s contact details. Details are released only with both parties’ consent.
(c) Upon release of details, the Company has no liability for the quality, outcome, or conduct of either party.
1.6 Payments
All payments are processed through Stripe. Fees are:
- Tutors £15 connection fee (non-refundable, paid by student).
- University Consultancy £30 connection fee + 10 % commission on agreed total fee (paid by student). The consultant must deduct that 10 % from the amount charged to the student.
- Teacher Training and Student Well-Being Consultancies £15 connection fee (non-refundable, paid by client).
- Group session 20% commission charged by the company on the total amount earned by the tutor or consultant through the platform. This commission will be deducted after the successful completion of the session. Additionally, for consultant or tutor receiving payments outside the UK, a small handling fee will apply to cover the international transfer of funds from company’s UK bank account to the tutor/consultant account.
- Tutor or consultant does not deliver a confirmed group session after students have been charged, a £50 administrative fee will be charged to the tutor or consultant (This fee covers the handling and refunding costs incurred by the company for reimbursing the students).
The Company’s responsibility ends once contact details are delivered.
1.7 Liability and Disclaimers
The Company acts solely as an introducer. It does not guarantee service quality or outcomes. Liability is limited to the amount paid in connection fees.
1.8 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
1.9 Acceptable Use & Prohibited Activities
Users must not use the Platform for unlawful or unethical purposes. Prohibited activities include academic dishonesty, exam or assignment completion, impersonation, misrepresentation of qualifications, provision of medical or clinical mental-health services, harassment, abuse, or misuse involving minors. Breach may result in immediate suspension or termination.
1.10 Intellectual Property
Users retain ownership of uploaded content but grant the Company a non-exclusive licence to display and operate the Platform. Infringing content may be removed.
1.11 Legal Provisions
The Company may amend these Terms & Conditions by publishing updates on the Website. Invalid provisions do not affect remaining clauses. These Terms & Conditions constitute the entire agreement.
2. TUTOR TERMS AND CONDITIONS
2.1 Status and Eligibility
Tutors are independent contractors, not employees of the Company. To register, they must:
(a) Provide valid ID, proof of qualifications, and DBS/Police clearance;
(b) Agree to the Safeguarding & Code of Conduct Policy; and
(c) Maintain accurate profile details.
2.2 Conduct and Professional Standards
Tutors must:
- Communicate professionally and courteously.
- Deliver honest descriptions of their services.
- Avoid any harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate conduct.
- Comply with all applicable laws and safeguarding requirements.
2.3 Group Sessions
(a) Tutors may advertise sessions via the Group Sessions tab.
(b) Adverts require prior approval by the Company.
(c) Once minimum participants ( as mentioned by the host ; who is either a registered tutor or registered consultant) register and pay, the session becomes confirmed.
(d) Payment is held by the Company; after successful completion of the session, 80% is released to the Tutor and 20 % retained as commission.
(e) Additionally, for consultant or tutor receiving payments outside the UK, a small handling fee will apply to cover the international transfer of funds from company’s UK bank account to the tutor/consultant account.
(f) If the Tutor cancels without notice, the Company may refund students and withhold payment. Tutor will be questioned by the company for cancelling without notice and a warning from the company might be issued.
2.4 Fees and Payments
Tutors do not pay to register. Students pay the connection or session fees through Stripe. Tutor is required to pay an annual fee of £25 by the end of each calendar year in order to maintain an active profile on www.mytutorquest.com. Failure to make this payment will result in the tutor’s profile being deactivated and no longer visible to students. Tutors are responsible for their own tax liabilities.
2.5 Liability and Indemnity
The Company is not liable for Tutors’ acts or omissions. Tutors indemnify the Company against losses arising from their conduct.
2.6 Termination
The Company may suspend or remove a Tutor’s profile for misconduct, breach, or failure to maintain verification documents.
3. CONSULTANT TERMS AND CONDITIONS
3.1 Scope
Consultants include:
(a) University Application Consultants – assisting with university entry applications.
(b) Teacher Trainers – providing professional training to educators.
(c) Student Well-Being Consultants – offering mental-health or welfare guidance.
3.2 Verification
Consultants must submit valid ID, qualification evidence, and DBS check (UK) or Police Certificate (abroad). Approval is required before profiles go live.
3.3 Fees and Commission
(a) University Consultancy – £30 connection fee + 10 % commission on the agreed consultancy fee (paid by the student/client). Commission is paid at the time of connection by the student/client and deducted from the Consultant’s charge to the student. The connection fee and 10% commission on the agreed consultancy fee is non-refundable.
(b) Teacher Training – £15 connection fee (non-refundable, paid by client).
(c) Student Well-Being – £15 connection fee (non-refundable, paid by client)
3.4 Conduct and Professional Obligations
Consultants must:
- Provide honest, accurate information.
- Maintain confidentiality and data protection.
- Operate within their professional competence.
- Respect client privacy and boundaries.
3.5 Liability and Disclaimers
The Company bears no responsibility for consultancy advice or outcomes. Consultants act independently and assume full responsibility for their services.
3.6 Cancellation and Refunds
Connection fees and commissions are non-refundable except for confirmed technical failures in delivering contact details.
3.7 Termination
The Company may remove a Consultant’s profile for breach, complaint substantiation, or failure to maintain valid verification documents.
3.8 Execution and Acceptance
By continuing to use the Website or offering services through it, all parties acknowledge they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
4. STUDENT / PARENT / CLIENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS
4.1 Purpose
These Terms apply to all Students, Parents and Clients (“you”, “your”) who use www.mytutorquest.com (“the Website”) to find Tutors or Consultants. By creating an account or making payment, you agree to these Terms.
4.2 Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old. Where a minor uses the Website, a parent or guardian must hold the account and supervise all communication.
4.3 Service Process
(a) You may browse verified Tutors and Consultants freely.
(b) You may message them via the Website before purchase.
(c) When satisfied, you may buy the selected Tutor’s or Consultant’s details. Details are released only with that person’s consent.
(d) Once released, the Company’s obligation ends; all later lessons or consultations are private agreements between you and the professional.
4.4 Payments
All payments go through Stripe in GBP (£). You agree that:
- Tutor connection fee = £15 (non-refundable).
- University Consultant connection fee = £30 + 10 % commission of the agreed consultancy fee (deducted from Consultant’s charge).
- Teacher Training and Student Well-Being Consultants = £15 connection fee.
- Group Sessions = payable in full on registration; 20 % retained by the Company.
4.5 Your Responsibilities
(a) Provide accurate personal and payment details.
(b) Use the platform only for lawful educational or consultancy purposes.
(c) Do not request or share private contact information before purchasing connection details.
(d) Treat Tutors and Consultants respectfully and comply with the Safeguarding Policy.
4.6 Refunds and Cancellations
You agree and acknowledge that, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, no statutory cooling-off period applies to this agreement. This is because the tutoring services are customised and created specifically to meet your individual needs and preferences.
All connection fees are strictly non-refundable except where a technical failure prevents delivery of details (see Refund Policy).
4.7 Liability
The Company is not liable for the conduct or performance of Tutors or Consultants. Your contract for lessons or consultancy is with them, not the Company.
4.8 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
5. PRIVACY AND COOKIE POLICY
5.1 Purpose
This Policy explains how My Tutor Quest Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects personal data under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
5.2 Data Controller
My Tutor Quest Ltd acts as Data Controller, registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO No. ZC012673).
5.3 Information Collected
We collect:

- Professional credentials for Tutors/Consultants;
- Payment details (processed via Stripe – we do not store card numbers);
- Communications through the Website; and

(a) Verify Tutors and Consultants;
(b) Provide secure introductions between users;
(c) Process payments and issue receipts;
(d) Improve platform functionality; and
(e) Comply with legal obligations.
5.5 Legal Basis
Processing is based on:
- Consent (when you register);
- Performance of contract (between you and the Company);
- Legitimate interest (platform safety and fraud prevention); and
- Legal compliance.
- Compliance with safeguarding obligations and verification requirements, including the prevention of harm to minors and vulnerable users.
5.6 Data Storage and Retention
Personal data is stored securely in the UK or EEA. Verification documents are kept for the duration of your account plus six years for audit purposes. Verification documents are reviewed periodically and may be requested again where required by safeguarding standards, legal changes, or platform policy updates.
5.7 Cookies
(a) Essential cookies enable login and payment functions.
(b) Analytical cookies help improve site performance.
(c) You may disable non-essential cookies via browser settings, but some features may not function properly.
5.8 Your Rights
You may request access, rectification, deletion, restriction, or data portability by emailing contact@mytutorquest.com. You may also complain to the ICO.
5.9 Data Sharing
We share data only with Stripe (for payments) and secure third-party IT providers under binding agreements. We never sell personal data.
5.10 Security
The Company uses encryption, secure servers, and limited staff access to protect information.
5.11 Updates
This Policy may change from time to time. The latest version is published on the Website and supersedes all previous versions.
5.12 Communications Records
Platform communications may be retained for safeguarding, compliance, and dispute resolution purposes.
5.13 Verification & Safeguarding Documentation
To ensure safeguarding, platform integrity, and legal compliance, My Tutor Quest Ltd requires Tutors and Consultants to upload verification documents, which may include but are not limited to:
• Passport or national ID
• Right-to-work or work permit documentation
• Academic and professional qualification certificates
• DBS certificates (UK) or Police Clearance Certificates (non-UK)
• Profile photographs
These documents are collected solely for identity verification, safeguarding, fraud prevention, and regulatory compliance purposes.
Access to such documentation is strictly restricted to authorised personnel and is stored securely in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Failure or refusal to provide requested verification documentation may result in profile suspension, removal, or refusal of access to the Platform.
Verification by the Company does not constitute accreditation, endorsement, or a guarantee of professional competence.
6. SAFEGUARDING & CODE OF CONDUCT POLICY
6.1 Purpose
This Policy ensures the protection and well-being of all children, young people, and vulnerable adults engaging through the Website. It applies to all Tutors, Consultants, Students, and Clients.
6.2 Company Commitment
The Company requires that all verified Tutors and Consultants:
- Hold a valid DBS certificate or Police Clearance Certificate;
- Provide proof of identity and qualifications; and
- Adhere to UK safeguarding standards.
6.3 Expected Conduct
All users must:
(a) Treat others with respect and dignity.
(b) Use the Website for lawful, educational, and consultancy purposes only.
(c) Avoid offensive, discriminatory, or harassing language or behaviour.
(d) Keep professional boundaries in all communications.
(e) Never attempt to meet a minor alone without parental consent.
6.4 Safeguarding Procedure
(a) Any concerns must be reported immediately to contact@mytutorquest.com.
(b) The Company acknowledges reports within 48 hours and investigates promptly.
(c) Serious cases may be referred to law enforcement or social services.
6.5 Investigation and Action
Where breaches are confirmed, the Company may suspend or terminate accounts and notify relevant authorities.
6.6 Duties of Parents and Guardians
Parents/guardians must supervise their children’s communications and report any concerns without delay.
6.7 Training and Compliance
Tutors and Consultants are encouraged to complete regular safeguarding training. Evidence may be requested during verification or renewal.
6.8 Confidentiality
All reports are handled confidentially and shared only on a need-to-know basis consistent with legal requirements.
6.9 Review
This Policy is reviewed annually or earlier if law or guidance changes.
7. COMPLAINTS & DISPUTE RESOLUTION POLICY
7.1 Purpose
This Policy sets out how My Tutor Quest Ltd (“the Company”) manages complaints and disputes from any user (“you”, “your”) of www.mytutorquest.com (“the Website”).
7.2 Principles
The Company handles all valid complaints based on:
(a) Fairness – impartial and transparent investigation;
(b) Confidentiality – information shared only as necessary;
(c) Promptness – resolution within reasonable time frames;
(d) Compliance – adherence to UK consumer and dispute-resolution laws.
7.3 Submitting a Complaint
(a) All complaints must be made in writing to contact@mytutorquest.com.
(b) Include your name, account email, details of the issue, supporting evidence, and desired outcome.
(c) Anonymous complaints will only be investigated if they raise safeguarding or criminal concerns.
7.4 Handling Procedure
(a) Acknowledge within 5 working days.
(b) Investigate and, if needed, request further details.
(c) Provide a written response within 14 working days where possible.
(d) Escalate serious matters (e.g., safeguarding or financial fraud) to the relevant authorities.
7.5 Resolution Outcomes
The Company may:
(a) Issue clarification or explanation;
(b) Provide a refund (only for verified technical errors);
(c) Suspend or terminate user accounts;
(d) Refer matters to law enforcement; or
(e) Take no further action where a complaint is unsubstantiated.
7.6 Dispute Resolution
If unsatisfied after the internal review, you may request escalation to a senior compliance officer.
Afterward, you may seek mediation through an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider.
7.7 Record Keeping
All complaints are logged and retained securely for up to six (6) years.
8. REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY
8.1 Purpose
This Policy explains refund and cancellation rights relating to all connection fees, commissions, and group sessions under UK law.
8.2 Non-Refundable Fees
All connection fees, 10% university consultancy commission and 20% group sessions commission are strictly non-refundable once processed via Stripe, including:
(a) £15 Tutor connection fee;
(b) £30 University Consultant connection fee;
(c) 10% consultancy commission;
(d) £15 Teacher Training connection fee;
(e) £15 Student Well-being connection fee; and
(f) 20% commission on Group Session fees.
8.3 Exceptions
Refunds are only issued where a confirmed technical failure by the Company prevents delivery of contact details after payment.
Requests must be made within 5 working days of the transaction to contact@mytutorquest.com with proof of payment.
8.4 Group Sessions
(a) Student cancellations – no refunds once payment is confirmed.
(b) Tutor cancellations – participants refunded in full less the 10% non-refundable administration cost.
(c) Failure to deliver without valid cause – Tutor payment withheld and account subject to suspension.
8.5 Legal Basis
Regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 excludes the right to cancel once an intermediary service has been performed. Additionally, you agree and acknowledge that in accordance with the ‘Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013’, you do not have a statutory right to cancel this Customer Contract and receive a full refund during any cooling-off period on the basis that the Tutoring Services are bespoke and tailored specifically to your individual requirements.
8.6 Disputes
Chargebacks must first be raised directly with the Company. Unwarranted chargebacks may result in account suspension.
8.7 Limitation of Liability
The Company’s liability is limited to the total connection or session fee paid. No compensation is due for indirect loss or dissatisfaction with third-party performance.
9. ADVERTISING POLICY FOR GROUP SESSIONS
9.1 Purpose
This Policy governs all advertisements for Group Sessions posted on the Website by Tutors or Consultants (“Advertisers”).
9.2 Definition
A Group Session means any class, seminar, or workshop offered by a verified Tutor or Consultant for multiple participants (minimum 1, maximum 10 unless otherwise agreed).
9.3 Advertisement Content
Adverts must include:
- Session title and topic
- Target group and level
- Date, time, duration
- Fee per participant
- Delivery method (online)
- Minimum and maximum participants
- Clear description of outcomes
All advertisements must be truthful, accurate, and compliant with the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.
9.4 Approval
Every advert requires Company review and approval before publication. The Company may request modifications.
9.5 Payment & Commission
(a) Participants pay full session fees through Stripe once the minimum number of participants ( as mentioned by the advertiser) is reached.
(b) The Company retains 10% as commission.
(c) 90% is released to the Tutor/Consultant after successful session completion within 7 working days, subject to Stripe processing timelines.
9.6 Cancellations
(a) If the Advertiser cancels, all participants are refunded in full less 10% administrative cost.
(b) If a participant cancels or fails to attend, no refund is issued.
(c) If a Tutor/Consultant does not deliver, payment may be withheld, and the advertiser may be charged £50 for the administrative cost of the company (incurred by the company in refunding the payments to the participants)
9.7 Conduct and Standards
Advertisers must maintain professionalism and deliver sessions as described.
No unrelated promotion, solicitation, or misuse of participant data is permitted.
9.8 Intellectual Property
Advertisers retain ownership of teaching materials but grant the Company a non-exclusive right to use session titles and summaries for promotional display.
9.9 Liability
The Company acts only as an intermediary and is not responsible for session quality, outcomes, or participant disputes.
9.10 Termination
The Company may remove adverts, suspend, or terminate accounts for breaches of this Policy.
10. STUDENT WELL-BEING – PLATFORM DISCLAIMER
10.1 Platform Role
My Tutor Quest operates exclusively as an online connecting platform. It does not provide, offer, recommend, supervise, manage, endorse, or deliver any mental health, medical, therapeutic, counselling, diagnostic, or clinical services.
10.2 Independent Professionals
All professionals listed under the Student Well-being category act as independent contractors. They are not employees, agents, partners, or representatives of My Tutor Quest. Any engagement between a user and a professional constitutes a separate and independent contractual relationship between those parties only.
10.3 No Professional Responsibility or Clinical Oversight
My Tutor Quest does not:
(a) Provide clinical supervision or professional oversight
(b) Assess clinical competence, treatment effectiveness, or outcomes
(c) Assume responsibility for advice, guidance, or services provided by professionals
10.4 Verification and Approval
My Tutor Quest may review profiles, documentation, and conduct interviews as part of its onboarding process. Such checks are limited in nature and are conducted solely for platform suitability.
Approval or listing on the platform does not constitute accreditation, certification, endorsement, or assurance of professional competence.
10.5 Regulatory Compliance
Professionals are solely responsible for:
(a) Ensuring they are legally permitted to offer their services
(b) Holding any registrations, licences, or qualifications required in their jurisdiction
(c) Complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards
Registration and qualification requirements vary by country and role. My Tutor Quest does not independently verify credentials beyond the information submitted by professionals.
10.6 User Responsibility
Users are solely responsible for assessing the suitability, qualifications, and appropriateness of any professional before engaging their services.
My Tutor Quest accepts no liability for any loss, harm, or damage arising from services provided by professionals listed on the platform, except where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.
10.7 Emergency Situations
My Tutor Quest is not an emergency service. In cases of immediate risk, crisis, or serious mental health concerns, users must contact local emergency services or licensed healthcare providers immediately.
10.8 Scope & Emergency Limitation
Well-being services are supportive and non-clinical. They are not suitable for crisis or emergency situations. Professionals must clearly disclose scope and jurisdiction. The Company bears no responsibility after introduction.
11. ELIGIBILITY, AGE & USE BY MINORS
11.1 Age Requirement
Access to and use of the My Tutor Quest platform is strictly limited to individuals who are 18 years of age or older. By creating an account, registering as a professional, booking services, or otherwise using the platform, users represent and warrant that they are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
11.2 Use on Behalf of Minors
Students under the age of 18 may only access services offered via My Tutor Quest through a parent or legal guardian. The parent or legal guardian must be at least 18 years of age and is solely responsible for:
• Creating and managing the account
• Providing informed consent

11.3 Professional Responsibility for Services Involving Minors
Professionals who choose to offer services to students under the age of 18 do so entirely at their own discretion and risk. Such professionals are solely responsible for:
• Determining whether they are legally permitted and appropriately qualified to work with minors
• Complying with all applicable safeguarding, child protection, duty-of-care, and consent laws in their country of practice
• Implementing appropriate safeguarding policies, procedures, and professional boundaries
My Tutor Quest does not monitor, supervise, assess, or enforce safeguarding practices and accepts no liability for services provided to minors.
11.4 No Direct Use by Minors
Individuals under the age of 18 are not permitted to create accounts, communicate independently with professionals, or use the My Tutor Quest platform without parental or legal guardian involvement.
11.5 Misrepresentation of Age
Any misrepresentation of age, legal capacity, or authority to act on behalf of a minor constitutes a material breach of these Terms. My Tutor Quest reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend or terminate accounts, restrict access, or take any action deemed necessary to protect users and limit legal or safeguarding risk.
12. ELIGIBILITY, LOCATION & LEGAL COMPLIANCE
12.1 Purpose
This section applies exclusively to individuals who register on the Platform as tutors or consultants.
12.2 Eligibility to Use the Platform
By registering on or using the Platform as a tutor or consultant, you confirm that you are legally permitted to provide the services you offer through the Platform in accordance with the laws applicable to your country of physical residence.
12.3 Declaration of Physical Location
You must accurately declare the country in which you are physically located at the time services are provided.
You agree to promptly notify My Tutor Quest LTD of any change to your country of physical residence.
Failure to maintain accurate and up-to-date location information constitutes a material breach of these Terms and Conditions.
12.4 Legal Right to Work and Provide Services
You represent and warrant that you hold, and will continue to hold, all rights, permissions, visas, licences, and authorisations required to lawfully provide tutoring or consultancy services from your declared location.
You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable immigration, visa, employment, tax, and work authorisation laws relevant to your location and activities conducted through the Platform.
12.5 United Kingdom–Specific Provisions
If you are physically present in the United Kingdom while providing services through the Platform, you confirm that your immigration status permits you to undertake such activities in the manner offered.
Without limitation:
(a) Individuals present in the UK on a Student visa are prohibited from providing services on a self-employed or freelance basis.
(b) Such individuals may only provide services where they are expressly engaged by My Tutor Quest LTD as an employee, under a separate written employment agreement, and strictly in accordance with UK Home Office rules and restrictions, including applicable working-hour limits.
12.6 Platform Role and Reliance on Declarations
The Platform operates as a global tutoring and consultancy platform facilitating connections between Tutors/Consultants and clients.
My Tutor Quest LTD does not provide immigration, legal, or tax advice and is entitled to rely on the representations and declarations made by Tutors/Consultants regarding their eligibility, physical location, and legal compliance.
12.7 Responsibility and Indemnity
You acknowledge that any breach of immigration, employment, or work authorisation laws arising from your use of the Platform is your sole responsibility.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless My Tutor Quest LTD, including its owners, directors, officers, and operators, from and against any losses, penalties, claims, damages, or liabilities arising from your failure to comply with applicable laws or these Terms and Conditions.
12.8 Suspension and Termination
My Tutor Quest LTD reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Platform where it reasonably believes that you have:
(a) Provided false, misleading, or incomplete information regarding your location, eligibility, or legal right to work; or
(b) Otherwise acted in breach of applicable laws or these Terms and Conditions.
Execution and Acceptance
By advertising, booking, or using the Website, all parties confirm they have read and accepted the Terms and Conditions.
