About My Tutor Quest
What is My Tutor Quest?
My Tutor Quest is an online platform connecting students, parents, and clients with verified tutors and consultants offering tutoring, university application advice, teacher training, and student well-being services.
Does My Tutor Quest provide lessons or consultancy directly?
No. My Tutor Quest only connects users with independent tutors and consultants. All subsequent arrangements are private agreements between the parties.
Who can use My Tutor Quest?
Anyone aged 18 or above can register. Parents or guardians must manage accounts for users under 18.
For Students and Clients
How do I find a tutor or consultant?
You can browse profiles, chat with tutors or consultants freely, and once satisfied, purchase their verified contact details to arrange sessions directly.
What is a Connection Fee?
A Connection Fee is a non-refundable charge that provides access to a tutor’s or consultant’s verified contact details once both parties consent.
How much does it cost?
• Tutors: £15 connection fee ( charged to student)
• University Application Consultants: £30 connection fee ( charged to student) + 10% commission (deducted from consultant’s charge and paid by student along with connection fee)-
• Teacher Training/Student Well-being Consultants: £30 connection fee ( charged to student)
• Group Sessions: Full payment upfront, with 10% retained by My Tutor Quest as commission.
Are connection fees refundable?
No. All connection fees are non-refundable, except when a confirmed technical issue prevents delivery of contact details.
Can I message a tutor before paying?
Yes. You can chat with tutors and consultants via the website before purchasing their details but you cannot share sensitive data on the chat including you contact number , address, email etc
What happens after purchasing contact details?
Once details are shared, the arrangement is private between you and the tutor or consultant. My Tutor Quest’s responsibility ends after contact details are delivered.
For Tutors and Consultants
How can I join as a tutor or consultant?
Click ‘Join as a Tutor/Consultant’, complete your profile, and upload verification documents. Once approved by admin, your profile goes live.
Am I eligible to work on MyTutorQuest?
You may work on MyTutorQuest only if you are legally permitted to provide tutoring or consultancy services in the country where you are physically located. You are responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable immigration, visa, employment, and tax laws. Additional restrictions apply if you are based in the UK, particularly for individuals on Student visas. Please refer to section 12 of our Terms & Conditions document for more details.
What documents are required?
Tutors & Consultants are required to submit valid identification (e.g Passport), evidence of qualifications, and a current enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (for UK-based Tutors & consultants) or an equivalent Police Certificate (for Tutors & consultants based abroad). Clients are strongly encouraged to request the Tutors & Consultants to present the above valid identification documents before the start of their first session. This applies to both online and in-person sessions to ensure authenticity and provide peace of mind regarding the tutors & Consultants credentials.
Do I pay to register?
No. Registration is free for tutors and consultants. You only pay £25 at the end of each year ( year begins on the date of registration) to keep your profile active on the website.
What is the commission structure?
• Tutors: 0%
• University Consultants: 10% commission on agreed consultancy fee
• Group Sessions: 10% commission retained by the company.
When do I get paid?
Group session payments are released within 7 working days after completion, subject to Stripe processing timelines.
Group Sessions
What are Group Sessions?
Group Sessions are interactive lessons or workshops offered by verified tutors or consultants to multiple participants.
How many participants are required?
A session activates once minimum participants (chosen by the host) register and pay, with a maximum of ten unless otherwise agreed.
What is the cancellation policy?
• Tutor cancellation: Participants refunded (minus 10% admin fee)
• Student cancellation: Non-refundable
• Failure to deliver: Payment withheld, £50 charge will be incurred by the tutor or consultant to cover the administrative cost for processing participants refunds and possible suspension of their account.
Privacy, Safety, and Safeguarding
Is my data safe?
Yes. My Tutor Quest complies with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Personal data is securely stored and never sold.
Are all tutors verified?
Yes. Every tutor and consultant is verified with ID, qualifications, and DBS/Police clearance.
What if I have a safeguarding concern?
Email contact@mytutorquest.com immediately. The safeguarding team investigates all reports within 48 hours.
Payments and Refunds
How are payments processed?
All payments are securely handled via Stripe in GBP (£).
Can I get a refund?
No, except in cases of confirmed technical error. Regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 excludes the right to cancel once an intermediary service has been performed. Additionally, you agree and acknowledge that in accordance with the ‘Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013’, you do not have a statutory right to cancel this Customer Contract and receive a full refund during any cooling-off period on the basis that the Tutoring Services are bespoke and tailored specifically to your individual requirements.
What if there’s a technical issue?
Email contact@mytutorquest.com within 5 working days with proof of payment. We’ll investigate promptly.
Complaints and Disputes
How can I file a complaint?
Email contact@mytutorquest.com with details of your issue and any supporting evidence. We’ll acknowledge within 5 working days and respond within 14 working days.
What if I’m unhappy with the outcome?
You may request escalation to a Senior Compliance Officer or seek mediation through an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider.
