A brief introduction
I have always had a strong interest in education and learning, which has shaped both my academic and professional journey. I completed ten years of my schooling at St. Joseph's Convent School, followed by two years of intermediate education.
I then pursued a four-year BBA (Honours) degree with a specialisation in Marketing and Human Resource Management from the Institute of Business Management (IoBM). Although my academic background is in business, my passion for teaching eventually led me towards education, where I have now built over 15 years of professional teaching experience.
Tutoring Experience
I am a qualified and experienced English Language teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience. Throughout my professional career, I have worked in various reputable schools in Karachi, teaching and preparing students across different secondary and higher secondary levels.
I specialise in English Language and have extensive experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE and O Level programmes, as well as Pearson Edexcel curricula. My primary expertise lies in working with students in Grades 9, 10 and 11, helping them develop strong language, reading, writing, comprehension and examination skills.
Over the years, I have conducted both classroom and online learning sessions and have gained considerable experience in preparing students for their board and international examinations. I focus on understanding the individual learning needs of each student and adapting my teaching methods accordingly to help them gain confidence and achieve their academic goals.
I am passionate about teaching English and believe in creating an engaging, supportive and structured learning environment where students can improve not only their academic performance but also their overall communication and critical-thinking skills.
Teaching Method
I believe that effective teaching begins with understanding the individual needs of each student. Over my 15 years of teaching experience, I have worked with students of different abilities and learning styles, and I have learned that there is no single approach that works for everyone. I therefore adapt my teaching according to the student's strengths, weaknesses and pace of learning.
My teaching style is interactive, supportive and focused on building both understanding and confidence. As an English Language specialist, I help students develop their skills in reading, writing, comprehension, grammar, vocabulary and critical thinking. For students preparing for IGCSE, O Level and Pearson Edexcel examinations, I also place strong emphasis on understanding the examination requirements, question types and marking criteria.
I encourage students to participate actively in lessons and to think independently rather than simply memorising answers. I believe regular practice and constructive feedback are essential for improvement, so I work closely with students to identify areas they need to develop and help them improve step by step.
My aim is to create a comfortable and encouraging learning environment where students feel confident asking questions, making mistakes and learning from them. Ultimately, I want my students not only to achieve good academic results but also to become more confident and independent learners.
