A brief introduction

I am a final-year Computer Science student at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) with a strong academic and quantitative background. Mathematics has been an integral part of my studies, particularly through university-level courses in calculus, linear algebra, probability, statistics and computer science.

I enjoy breaking down mathematical problems into simple, logical steps and helping students understand why a method works rather than simply memorising formulas. I am particularly interested in teaching GCSE Mathematics and helping students develop the confidence and problem-solving skills needed to perform well in their examinations.

My background in Computer Science has further strengthened my analytical thinking and allows me to approach mathematical concepts in a structured and intuitive way.

Tutoring Experience

I have extensive experience working with students and peers in academic and mentoring environments. Throughout my studies at LUMS, I have regularly helped others understand mathematical, quantitative and computer science concepts by simplifying difficult problems and explaining them step by step.

My university studies have involved mathematics substantially beyond GCSE level, including calculus, linear algebra, probability, statistics and mathematical problem solving.

I am comfortable teaching the GCSE Mathematics syllabus, including algebra, number, geometry, trigonometry, ratios and proportions, probability, statistics, graphs and functions. I can support students who are struggling with fundamentals as well as students aiming for the highest GCSE grades.

Teaching Method

My teaching approach is concept-focused, structured and exam-oriented. I first identify a student's current level and any gaps in their understanding before building a personalised plan around their needs.

For each topic, I begin by explaining the underlying concept in simple language and working through examples step by step. The student then attempts progressively more challenging questions independently, allowing me to identify and correct misconceptions early.

For GCSE Mathematics, I place particular emphasis on past-paper questions, exam technique, time management and recognising common question patterns. I also revisit weaker topics regularly so that students retain what they have learned rather than forgetting it after completing a chapter.

My aim is not simply to help students arrive at the correct answer, but to develop the confidence and mathematical reasoning needed to tackle unfamiliar questions independently.
