A brief introduction
I'm an Economics and Mathematics undergraduate with a lifelong passion for language, literature, and the study of society. My academic path has been shaped by strong grounding in both the humanities and analytical thinking, which lets me approach English Language, English Literature, and Sociology from a well-rounded perspective. Alongside my degree, I have spent years immersed in creative writing, editing, and public speaking, including recognition as a finalist in a national youth poetry program and publication in a literary anthology. I care about helping students find their own voice, whether that means untangling a tricky grammar rule, building confidence in essay writing, or making sense of sociological theory. I bring patience, curiosity, and a structured approach to every session, and I enjoy adapting my style to match how each student learns best.
Tutoring Experience
I have several years of teaching and mentoring experience across different age groups and settings. As an English instructor, I delivered spoken and written language instruction, giving targeted feedback on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency to help students improve steadily over time. I founded and led a literary platform that grew to reach thousands of readers, managing a large team and overseeing everything from editorial direction to content strategy, which sharpened both my writing and my ability to explain ideas clearly to others. I also worked as an editing associate on a bilingual dictionary project, where precision and clarity in language were essential. More recently, I have taught curriculum-based sessions focused on literacy and comprehension skills, and worked directly with students from varied backgrounds, adjusting my teaching methods to suit different developmental needs. Across all these roles, a consistent thread has been helping people communicate more effectively and think more critically.
Teaching Method
My approach centres on building a strong foundation before layering on complexity. For English Language and Literature, I start by understanding where a student feels most confident and where they struggle, then design sessions around close reading, structured essay planning, and regular feedback that targets specific skills rather than vague generalities. I encourage students to engage actively with texts, asking questions and forming their own interpretations, rather than memorising set answers. For Sociology, I focus on connecting theory to everyday examples so concepts feel relevant and easier to retain, while also building the analytical writing skills needed for strong exam responses. I keep sessions interactive and adapt pacing to each student, using discussion, practice questions, and written exercises to reinforce learning. My goal is always to leave a student more confident and more capable of working independently, not just prepared for the next test.
