A brief introduction
I am a PhD-qualified academic and professional academician with around 20 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic mentoring across business and enterprise (including organisation, finance, and marketing management), sociology, and psychology. I have supported and transformed students worldwide at school level (GCSE, A-level, BTEC) and university level (undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD) by helping them develop strong subject understanding, improve academic performance, and produce high-quality coursework and exam responses through clear explanations, structured learning, and targeted, constructive feedback.
I bring a strong international perspective to my teaching and mentoring, mainly driven by my academic and professional experience across Australia, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Vietnam, Singapore, and Pakistan, as well as my development and research work with international organisations such as the Asian Development Bank, USAID, and the European Commission. This global exposure enables me to help students understand how academic concepts and theories work in real-world practice, supporting them to achieve high-distinction coursework and strong examination outcomes with confidence.
Tutoring Experience
I have over 20 years of experience teaching, tutoring, and mentoring students across school and university levels, including GCSE, A-level, BTEC, undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programmes. My experience covers Business Studies (organisation, finance, and marketing management), Sociology, and Psychology, with a strong focus on helping students improve understanding, confidence, and academic results.
Teaching Method
My teaching approach is structured, supportive, and results-focused, designed to help students clearly understand concepts and apply them confidently in exams and coursework. I begin by identifying each student's current level, learning gaps, and assessment requirements, ensuring that every session is fully tailored to individual needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
I explain complex ideas in simple, step-by-step language, using practical examples and real-world cases where appropriate. In Business Studies, Sociology, and Psychology, I focus on helping students understand key theories and concepts, apply them effectively, and structure high-quality answers that align with exam board and marking criteria.
My sessions typically include:
1- Clear explanation of key topics and concepts
2- Guided practice using exam-style questions or coursework tasks
3- Feedback on answers, structure, and use of evidence
4- Techniques for critical thinking, evaluation, and analysis
5- Study and revision strategies tailored to the student's goals
I provide constructive, detailed feedback and hands-on guidance, particularly for coursework and written assignments, helping students strengthen analysis, evaluation, and academic writing. This personalised and practical approach has consistently resulted in strong academic improvement and has earned me five-star ratings from students and supervisees.
